I must say, I never felt Love the way I Love that little girl.. Some things in my life has changed on the account of her, all for the better of course. In the course of my journey of being a mother I let go of a lot of old habits and picked up a few new and much better habits. I wont spoil the fun, I just let you guys see for yourself. Their only decent rivals are the nuggets at Chick-fil-A.

THOUGHTS ON WEEK 1 OF SHOW
I recorded my show today..Of course it aired 30 min later than expected, not completely my fault, but i didnt complain one bit..lol..I wasnt too nervous, because a lot of other things were on my mind, but everything was coming from within,I wanted to base the show off my Personality, and how well I can connect with the audience. I wanted to get comfortable in front of the camera, to make it feel like a natural process. I was too pleased with the outcome..My guest performers "Narrow Way" set the tone for the show in a way that cant be matched or compared. The nineties are having a moment, which means that leg-elongating flares were back on the runways. Balmain's Christophe Decarnin may be known for his thigh-baring minidresses, but these boot-cut trousers prove he's no slouch in the pants department, either

#2. something velvet

Tactile, touch-me fabrics were big for Fall, none more so than velvet. Up-and-comer Joseph Altuzarra went with red and cut it into lean, mean pantsuits and coat-dresses one part power woman, the other part femme fatale.

Beige, boring? Not since Phoebe Philo landed back on the scene last year. Taking cues from her influential resort collection for Celine, designers sent out a cavalcade of camel coats. Hannah MacGibbon's take for Chloé has an oversize menswear vibe.

Dries Van Noten's slashed-sleeve, slouchy sweatshirt came in a close second, but our vote for Fall's must-have topper goes to the cropped sweater that popped up at downtowner favorites Proenza Schouler. Better register for that Core Fusion class stat.

Designer newcomers Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen of The Row are getting behind the new longer skirt length, and where fashion influencers like these two go, others are sure to follow.

Trouser suits were everywhere this season, but the smart money is on Bottega Veneta. Tomas Maier's double-breasted navy two-piecer is brilliantly simple and simply timeless.

In this trailer for Sex and the City 2 (watch above), Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) declares that in the past two years, the girls have experienced "things you thought would never happen in a million years."

But the trailer doesn't offer up any juicy plot details.

As Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' hit song "Empire State of Mind" plays in the background, the teaser shows Carrie seemingly still in love with Mr. Big, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) busy as a mom and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) -- surprise! -- looking for men.

The trailer also shows the girls taking a lot of trips, including a camel ride through the desert.

"Sometimes, you just have to get away with the girls," Carrie says.

The sequel hits screens May 28, 2010.

So..America's Best Dance Crew udge Shane Sparks has been arrested in Los Angeles and charged with 8 felony counts of child molestation, TMZ is reporting. The Los Angeles Police Department took Sparks into custody at 8 am PT Friday morning. According to the criminal complaint, the alleged incidents began occurring in 1994 and involve one victim, an under-aged girl.

The complaint accuses the 35-year-old Sparks of engaging in acts "with the intent of arousing, appealing to, and gratifying the lust, passions, and sexual desires of the defendant, who was at least 10 years older than [the victim]."

Sparks -- best known for his past work as a choreographer on 'So You Think You Can Dance' -- is being held on $590,000 bail.

Sparks is actually the second person tied to 'So You Think You Can Dance' who's been in trouble with the law. Earlier this year, his co-star and dancing instructor Alex Da Silva was charged with sexual assault.

He has also worked with artists such as Aaliyah, Monica, and Lindsay Lohan. His work on the 2004 film 'You Got Served' earned him an American Choreography Awards and was nominated for Emmy for 'So You Think ...'

The Price for Fame....

CNN) -- A judge in Colorado sentenced the father who in October falsely reported his 6-year-old son was aloft in an escaped balloon to 90 days on Wednesday.

The judge indicated that Richard Heene will spend part of the time in jail and the rest on work release.

He is to begin his sentence after the holidays.

Heene tearfully apologized during the hearing.

"I'm very, very sorry, and I want to apologize to all the rescue workers out there and the people who got involved in the community. That's it," Richard Heene said.

His wife, Mayumi Heene, received a sentence of 20 days in jail, which is less than the 60 days agreed to by prosecutors as part of a plea deal before the hearing.

Mayumi Heene won't begin her sentence until her husband finishes his jail time so there can be someone home with their children, Larimer County Judge Stephen Schapanski said.

She also was given four years of supervised probation and must do 120 hours of public service.

Earlier, a prosecutor revealed the search-and-rescue launched in response to the incident cost at least $47,000 and said Richard Heene and his wife, Mayumi, should pay restitution to the various agencies that participated.

Last month, Richard Heene pleaded guilty in Larimer County Court to a felony charge of attempting to influence a public servant. Mayumi Heene pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of false reporting to authorities.

The incident occurred in October, when a large silver balloon came loose from its moorings in the Heenes' yard and drifted over eastern Colorado. Mayumi Heene called 911 and said the couple's 6-year-old son, Falcon, was inside the craft.

Millions of people across the country watched the saga on television for nearly two hours as military aircraft tracked the balloon in the air and rescuers chased it below.

Mayumi Heene later admitted the whole thing was a hoax and that Falcon was safe in their home the whole time, authorities said.

The couple's attorneys have said that the threat of Mayumi Heene's deportation was a factor in the plea deal negotiations. Mayumi Heene is a Japanese citizen but is in the United States legally.

Court documents released in October said the couple hatched the plan about two weeks before the incident and "instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax."

Their motive was to "make the Heene family more marketable for future media interests," the documents said.

The King is back. XXLMag.com has learned that T.I. was released from prison this morning (December 22) and will be admitted into a halfway house in his hometown of Atlanta, later today.

XXL spoke with Tip’s lead defense attorney in his federal gun case, Steve Sadow, who confirmed the news. “He was released this morning from his place of incarceration in Arkansas,” Sadow said. “As I understand it, he’s on his way back to the Atlanta area. He has to report to a halfway house in Atlanta sometime this evening. And he will then spend somewhere between the next two or three months in a halfway house, ending his Buruea of Prison sentence.“

According to Sadow, T.I. will have a lot more freedom under his new living conditions. “A halfway house is more along the lines of a residential dormitory,” he explained of the rap star’s new stipulations. “You live within this house that is broken into areas for living, and you are permitted to leave during the day for certain reasons of which would be employment, medical reasons, things of that nature, and you return to the halfway house in the evening. So it’s a restriction on your liberty but it’s a way for you to reenter into society and not be confined within a jail type institution 24-hours a day.”

T.I. has been serving time in Arkansas’ Forrest City Prison since May 26, for possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, as well as firearms from a convicted felon. He is expected to be finished with his federal sentence in March of 2010. —Jesse Gissen

FRIENDS of Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy said she "definitely had a drug problem" amid fears she may have died from taking the same prescription drugs as Michael Jackson

Murphy, 32, was reportedly hooked on prescription drugs, including Vicodin, after a series of plastic surgery operations made her dependent on painkillers.

"We have been very worried something like this was about to happen," a friend told The Sun.

"Brittany has been living life on the edge. She definitely had a drug problem and we have all begged her to seek help. Sadly our words fell on deaf ears."

Murphy was taking prescription medication for flu-like symptoms she had been experiencing for several days, sources have told TMZ.

The actress was very ill in the hours before she went into cardiac arrest and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 10.04am local time (Monday 5.04am AEDT).

TMZ reported Murphy began vomiting early Sunday morning and told family members she was feeling very sick.

Various prescriptions were found in the home - written for Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack, and Murphy's mother.

A source told TMZ: "There were a lot ... a lot of prescriptions in the house."

Monjak has reportedly asked that officials do not conduct an autopsy on her, despite her death being shrouded in mystery.

But despite his wishes, the LA County Coroner's office will perform an autopsy and toxicology report on the actress.

Earlier, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the cause of Murphy's death appeared "to be natural".

Neighbour Clare Staples said she saw firefighters working to resuscitate the actress. She said Murphy was on a stretcher and "looked as though she was dead at the scene''.

Monjak, wearing pyjama bottoms and no shoes, appeared "dazed'' as firefighters tried to save her, Staples said.

"It's just tragic,'' she said.

TMZ.com was the first to report Murphy's death, stating that her mother found the actress unconscious in the shower. The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Monjack.

"In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support," a rep for Murphy said.

Tributes were quickly posted on social networking site, Twitter, with Hollywood celebrities among some of the first to send condolences.

Ashton Kutcher, who dated Murphy and starred alongside in Just Married, expressed his sadness to his 4 million twitter followers with the following message: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon. See you on the other side kid."

Singer Jessica Simpson wrote: "Brittany Murphy was an incredible ray of Light to so many people. Her smile was contagious. My prayers are with her family and loved ones."

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian said: "I am in shock that Britney Murphy has died! Clueless is my all time favorite movie. My prayers go out to her family & husband."

Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst: "RIP Brittany Murphy. What a sweet human being. My prayers are with her friends and family."

Murphy starred in 8 Mile alongside Eminem and became a household name among teens in 1995 as the sidekick in Clueless.

The Sun reports Murphy was reportedly fired from her last film, The Caller, following a series of altercations on the set of the Puerto Rico-based horror movie. Her husband was also allegedly involved in a scuffle with locals.

Ever since Da Brat went to jail for beating a chick over the head with a bottle, people like Lisa Raye and Katt Williams have something to say about Jermaine Dupri not going to visit her while she’s doing her time. JD finally spoke about the situation on a radio show in Atlanta :

"Everyone has there reasons for doing certain things. If anything, Lisa Raye is Da Brat’s sister, so she definitely has to make her way to see Da Brat in jail but Katt Williams on the other hand, does he really have room to talk with all the trouble that he has been in lately??? This man can’t even make a simple trip to Wal-mart without ending up in handcuffs… SMH!!!"

“I spoke to her via letters back and forth and she’s good. She’s ready to come home and do what she gotta do,” Jermaine Dupri told V-103's Ryan Cameron this morning. “We are basically on the move to try and get her out.”

Young Money Records Attempts Damage Control As 'Rebirth' CD Leaks. Label Promises New Version Of Album For 2010

With Lil Wayne's rock LP, 'Rebirth' spreading across the internet like wildfire due to Amazon.com mistakenly shipping 500 copies out early. The Young Money camp has gone into full damage control mode.

Using Twitter to get the message out, Young Money booking agent Karen Civil, @KarenCivil tweeted on yesterday (December 16) "Leaked 09 Rebirth isn't going to be 2010 Rebirth.."

Mack Maine, the company's President then retweeted the same message via his account @MackMaine.

I find it very hard to believe the album can be completely re-tooled given the short amount between now and the probable beginning of Lil Wayne's prison sentence on February 9th. Which would also rule out pushing the album back further than the scheduled release date of February 1.

In my opinion, it's highly possible the label is either bluffing and the album comes out as it is now with maybe a couple of new songs or the project gets scrapped altogether.

I also expect to see a pretty big lawsuit filed against Amazon by Cash Money/Universal Motown Records.

Amazon now lists the release date as December 31,2020, whatever that means.

Chris Henry has died as a result of the injuries he sustained after falling out of the back of a moving pick-up truck yesterday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police tell TMZ Henry died at 6:36 AM EST this morning.

He was 26.

As we previously reported, cops believe Henry -- a wide receiver on the Cincinnati Bengals -- jumped into the back of the truck, in an attempt to stop his fiancee from leaving a "domestic situation" at her parents' home in North Carolina.

Henry was rushed to a local hospital -- where he passed away this morning.

Bethenny Frankel, who is well known as one of "The Real Housewives of New York City" cast, is the latest celebrity to bare her body for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)'s anti-fur ad. Her skyscraper billboard, which is located in New York City's Times Square, was shot by top celebrity photographer Joseph Cultice.

The photo shoot took place atop The Ludlow, the high-rise luxury apartment building located on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The 39-year-old TV personality was on her early pregnancy when the ad campaign was shot. "It's so tasteful and beautifully done," New York Post quoted her as saying. "I am especially pleased because it doesn't look like there's been any airbrushing and I was already pregnant when I shot it."

In an interview with PETA, which was conducted during the photo shoot, Bethenny opened up about what prompted her to stop wearing fur. "I used to wear fur. I went to a cocktail party, walked outside on Fifth Avenue, and a PETA protester was holding up a skinned animal," so she recalled. "I looked at it, and it made me sick. I felt disgusting. That day was a huge change, and since then I've really been against fur. I'm cleaning out my closets - trim, everything. I don't see any reason for cruelty."

Bethenny Frankel is currently three months pregnant with her first child. The father of her baby is her fiance, Jason Hoppy.

First-time mother Kendra Wilkinson and her newborn baby boy Hank Baskett IV land OK! Magazine's cover with an accompanying headline that read, "Kendra Exclusive Baby Photos and Interview". The 24-year-old reality TV star is photographed on the cover holding Hank Jr., who is in the nude and sleeping, with both of her hands.

Interviewed by the publication at her room at Clarian North Medical Center, where she delivered the infant through C-section last Wednesday, December 9, Kendra says "I was just in heaven." Her NFL player husband Hank Baskett chimes in, "It was awesome."

Asked about the preparation she did before coming to the hospital to give birth to Hank Jr., Kendra recalls, "The good thing about being induced is that it's like planning a trip, just very calm. We ate a huge dinner before we came to the hospital. I ate a whole batch of brownies because I was nervous. No wonder he's 9 pounds!"

"I was induced early in the morning; then it was wait, wait, wait. I was experiencing contractions throughout the day, and I was anxious. A baby is on the way for R 'n' B artist Keyshia Cole. Reports have been floating all over the web that the songstress is pregnant with her first child. S2Smagazine actually is the first to break story on the matter.

Back on November 30, the site reported Keyshia is carrying a bun in the oven. The father of her upcoming baby is her basketball player boyfriend Daniel Gibson, whom she began dating earlier this year.

Keyshia, according to a source close to her, is due to give birth in March next year. The gender of her not-yet-born infant wasn't disclosed though. In related news, S2Smagazine.com claimed that though they are expecting a baby, Keyshia and Daniel are in no rush to walk down the aisle.

As of the press time, there has been no official confirmation released by either Keyshia or Daniel if they really are expecting a baby. But, Examiner has claimed they will be parents to a baby boy.

Rumors that Keyshia Cole is pregnant first emerged last month after she was spotted at several ocassions sporting an apparent baby bump. Most recently she was seen courtside at a Cleveland Cavaliers game cheering on her man, Daniel Gibson.

Rapper Shyne Taps Super Producer Shawty Redd To Produce His Upcoming Album in Belize
After finishing a nine year stint in a New York State prison and then being deported back to his homeland of Belize , Jamal “Shyne” Barrow wasted no time in getting back to work. We have learned through our sources that Shyne recently commissioned Super Producer Shawty Redd to travel to Belize to executive produce his upcoming album.

Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez spoke briefly about Shyne’s plans to get back in the studio, but was unable to release any specific details. However, Hip Hop Enquirer’s Dennis Byron was contacted by Shawty Redd’s management several weeks earlier requesting that he fly out to Belize and capture the collaboration of Shyne and Shawty Redd working in the studio.
“His management contacted me several weeks ago about flying me to Belize to capture the behind the scenes of Shawty Redd working with Shyne, so of course I jumped at the opportunity. I had already photographed Shawty earlier in his career and I was also at Shyne’s trial in New York City nine years ago so it’s like a reunion”

T.I. May Go To a Halfway House

Earlier yesterday Atlanta gossip blog sandrarose.com reported that incarcerated rapper T.I. would be released from Arkansas ’ Forrest City Prison much earlier than expected. XXLMag.com spoke with Steve Sadow, the rap star’s lead council in his federal firearms case, to shed light on the matter.
According to Sadow, T.I. has a projected release date in “approximately the fourth week of March 2010.” This takes into account Tip’s original 366-day sentence, which he began serving on May 26, 2009, minus 54 days for good behavior and 14 days “that he had in custody prior to sentencing.”
“Now it is up to the [Federal] Bureau of Prisons to decide whether someone should be placed in a halfway house prior to the projected release date,” Sadow explained. “The Bureau of Prisons can do that and typically does it either a month before, or two months before… as much as six months before the projected release date.”
The attorney is optimistic that the Grammy-award-winning artist may be out sooner than expected. “We are hopeful that T.I. will be placed in a halfway house within the next month or so, which would be about two or three months before his projected release date. We are hopeful for that, we do not have any control over it. The Bureau of Prisons makes that decision entirely on its own, they don’t share that decision with the public and they don’t share that decision with the defense lawyers,” he said. “But we are hopeful because we know that T.I. has handled himself accordingly and conducted himself correctly while he has been incarcerated, we are hopeful that the Bureau of Prisons will give him two or three months of halfway house.”

"Kourtney just delivered a healthy baby boy about an hour ago," her publicist said.

Mason Dash Disick (yes, the middle name is the same as the family's boutique) arrived at an L.A.-area hospital, tipping the scales at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 19.5 inches.

"A boy is definitely needed in this family!" Kourtney told E! News in October. "Scott and I are thrilled to add a little boy to the bunch."

But the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has always had a lot of women in her life who love her—the same ones who showered her with baby gifts last month at Kris and Bruce Jenner's house in Calabasas.

Kourtney was "due any minute!" sisters Kim and Khloé reported to Ryan Seacrest last Thursday.

And while they've always been two of Kourtney's biggest fans, Kim and Khloé agreed that their big sis has done a complete turnaround, as far as getting ready to be a mom is concerned.

Rihanna: It's Impossible Not to Speak to Chris Brown Again

The 'Russian Roulette' singer reveals that she still wants to talk to Chris Brown, saying she can't see herself never speaking to him again.

Although Rihanna was assaulted and left covered in bruises by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown back in February, the "Russian Roulette" singer admitted that she doesn't hate the "With You" singer. She indeed stated that she still wants to talk to him.

In a recent interview, the Grammy Award-nominated singer told Glamour magazine, "I can't see myself never speaking to him again." She then added, "There's emotion there. I think it's possible to change."

Rihanna, however, confessed that she is fool for falling in love with Brown after what he did to her. The "Take a Bow" singer stated, "It's embarrassing that I fell in love with that person." She further shared, "He was my first big love and the more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for one another."

Beside feeling embarrassed, the 21-year-old singer also revealed that reconciling with him shortly after the attack was nothing but a mistake. "Love doesn't go away easily," she reasoned on why she made such decision.

Despite Rihanna's willingness to speak to Chris Brown again, she won't be able to do that at least in the next five years since Brown is legally ordered not to contact her. In addition to the restraining order, Brown himself was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community service in Virginia for assaulting her.

Nas Ordered To Increase Monthy Support Payments To Kelis To $51,000

In the summer, rapper Nas was ordered to pay a hefty month payment of $44,000 to his estranged wife Kelis for child- and spousal-support, in the midst of their divorce . Now, he's been ordered to pay more.
According to the Associated Press, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Cunningham III ordered the rapper (real name: Nasir Jones) to bump up his monthly child and spousal payments to $51,101, for a total of more than $600,000 a year to his soon-to-before ex-wife Kelis and their son, Knight.
The decision came after a two-day hearing in which the judge determined that Nas made enough money in recent months to pay additional support.
Nas' attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan , said the judge made the right decision and that despite the payment bump, Nas came out ahead in the decision because he will no longer have to pay the expenses on the former couple's Los Angeles residence.
TMZ reported that during Wednesday's (December 9) hearing, that the group were trying to reconcile in September, almost calling off the divorce, but things didn't work out.
She also reportedly testified that she has been having difficulty earning money because she is a new mother and doesn't have a lot of job options outside of the music business.
She told the court that Nas is slated to release two albums in 2010.
Earlier this month, Kelis announced that she had inked a deal with Will.i.am's Will.I.Am Music Group, who is distributed through Interscope. She's back in the studio, working on her next album.

One of the most valuable players on the Florida Gator football team was arrested last night for DUI -- don't worry, it wasn't Tim Tebow.

Gainseville PD busted defensive superstar Carlos Dunlap early this morning when they saw his car stopped at an intersection -- while the light was green. When the officer approached the car, he found Dunlap asleep, slumped over the wheel of his car.

Dunlap -- who was the defensive MVP of last year's national championship game -- failed a field sobriety test, refused to take a breath test and was hauled into the station where he was booked.

The arrest comes just days before the Gators take on number two Alabama in the SEC championship. No decision has been announced about whether Dunlap will play in the game.

A former Miss Argentina died Sunday after elective surgery on her butt went terribly wrong.

According to several international reports, 37-year-old Solange Magnano suffered a pulmonary embolism after going under the knife Wednesday at a Buenos Aires medical center for a gluteoplasty – a procedure which normally involves placing implants in the buttocks to improve their outline.

Solange -- a wife and mother of 7-year-old twins -- suffered a pulmonary embolism the day after her surgery when liquid injected into her buttocks "went to her lungs and brain."

Authorities say the cause of death is still under investigation.

Solange won the crown back in 1994 -- and had since created her own modeling agency.

"Essential J" : I have been singing since around 10 and started rapping about 2 years ago. I started off just writing and producing beats for other people I knew.

4.What inspired you to begin rapping/singing?

"Essential J" : I was 14 and I found out I had GarageBand on my mac computer and I started messing around with it producing beats .When I moved down to Jacksonville the pastor of my church heard something that I rapped through a logitech headset and recorded my self. She gave me my first real microphone .Which I still use till this day.

"Essential J" : My stage name is Essential J. Funny thing is I started off as "Young L" to "Reezy" and I decided those were whack and I wanted something with meaning and that stood out. So I took a dictionary and just randomly opened it to a page and the word "Essential" stood out to me. Meaning "a vital part of" .I feel as If Im a vital part of the underground music movement because we are the true talent.

"Essential J" : Offset Muzik Group is actually my very own record label/ entertainment company. I came up with the name "Offset" which means "to set off.or embellish something else" which means in the big picture I try to use my music to show that you can be different and you dont have to conform to society and ultimatively bring people to God.

7.Where was the largest venue you performed?

"Essential J" : The biggest performance ive done was a " True Hip Hop Showcase" in Atlanta, about 2 years ago.there were about 4,000 people there.This was also my first performance.So imagine my feeling haha!

"Essential J" : Every chance I get to touch a microphone! I try to perform at least once a month at least.

9.How far do you plan taking your career? Is this Full time?

Later you observe her again and she is still standing there grinding on the wall or one of her girls. Even worse some of you come dressed scantily clad and are shocked when a guy comes onto you. You have all your goodies showing leaving nothing to the imagination. You get all up in arms that he made a pass at you. Ladies I am not condoning a man making a sexual advance to you but when you have everything out he is not thinking wow she has a big beautiful....brain. Leave him guessing. Men like a challenge not an easy mark. Both of the situations occur every weekend in the club every weekend. Now I am not guaranteeing you are going to find love in the club but at least go out to have a good time. Ladies men appreciate seeing you all dolled up and want to approach you. Remember men are stimulated visually and in awe of how beautiful you look on any given club night. In their minds they do not see the logic in getting dressed up just to sit alone all night. They feel you might as well have stayed home. Anti-social behavior is not cute in the club. Then some of you have the nerve to be upset that no one approached you. Shutting men down when they approach is a surefire way to get you on the she is dancing alone list for the night. Not to mention the mean scowls you have on your face in the club no one wants to talk to a woman that looks pissed off. He does not want to further piss you off. Keep a smile on your face and an open mind when enter the club. Since one would like to believe you are there to enjoy yourself. Do not distract yourself about sweating out your weave that is what ponytail holders are for. Another issue worth address is the women who come dressed to the club like they are about to perform at another club....the strip club. Now do not get upset I am not telling anyone what to wear in a club. This is after all a free country. You can wear whatever you like. Just keep in mind you will attract a certain type of attention that may be unwanted. He will approach you but his mind will be consume with trying to get you out of the club and into the bed. Some men see the club as a hunting grounds and search for their prey there. Wearing next to nothing is like a deer caught in a hunter's sight. Some women have the audacity to be offended and appalled when a man approaches them with sex on his lips as they speak to them when dressed this way. Keep it grown and sexy force him to look into your eyes when speaking to you do not let your body distract him from seeing the real you. When I go to the club I am looking to meet new people. Although I am a shy girl I am not hesitant to meet a new firnedly face. Now gentleman while I sympathize with you in both of these situations some of you are guilty as charged with coming to a club only to stand around and watching fun happen all around you. In my eyes you could have stayed your ass home. You go to a club to dance and socialize. Let your hair down a little. Wind up your waist and drop it low and get your party on. Ever lost a love because you were stuck in the past? Never dwell
on something old, when you have something new. In life
we tend to allow the ghosts of love past haunt our present day
and even work its way into our future. We get so caught up in
what could have been we miss out on how things should be. I had
an eye-opening encounter this morning and would like you
to turn learn the lesson without the kick in the ass. There was
this sexy guy who worked in my office building who
approached me a while back. He was very nice looking had an
easy-going manner about him very down to earth. I gave him
my number and we would periodically speak on the phone. I would
make sporadic phone calls to him. We hung out two
times and that was it. At the time I was seeing this other guy I
had been dating off and on. He would pick me up from work
and come to my house all the time. Unbeknownst to me the new guy
saw all this since he lived near me and worked in the
same building. I would tell him when he asked me if I was seeing
anyone no and that I was just dating. I never gave it a
second thought. Needless to say I let the new guy go because I
was so fixated on the current guy. He would not commit to
me he kept saying if only I would change. It took too many years
and tears for me to get that shit through my head. It was
not until recently I got the case of the fuck-its and let him go.
Yet I cannot help but dwell on what could have been as I
talked to the new guy it was apparent he wanted nothing to do
with me. My ego got knocked unconscious. When it came to
we realized what a mistake we made. Never make the same mistake
twice. Never allow emotion mind drive your heart. If
you allow your emotions to fuel your decisions you will be on
shaking ground. The rational and emotional must fuse
together to create wise mind. You need them both to think clearly
and logically. Matters of the heart often defy logic.
Sometimes you have to think like a guy to get one. Men tend to
look at things from a black and white view it is either all or
nothing therefore diminishing any grey area. If a guy was in my
situation he probably would have cut the old girl off and
move on. When a situation isn’t working for you change your
environment. Never allow your past to dictate your future.
People come into your life for a reason, season, or a lifetime.
Acknowledge their place in your life and move on. We need to
possess the power of letting go. Do not try to make someone stay
that is meant to go. As T.D. Jakes says, “When people can
walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never to be
tied to anyone that left.” Stop trying to raise the dead. Know
when it is over. Ever noticed when everyone around you it telling
you to let something go and you are holding on you are
often barely hanging on. You lose your grip instead of letting it
go you chase after the rope that will inevitably be used to
hang yourself. If people are not joined to you know that you
cannot make them stay. That was my problem and now that I
have cut myself down from the rope my eyes are open. You cannot
view the world with rose-colored glasses. You will trip
and fall over your own feet. Stop begging people to stay. LET
THEM GO!

I’m back again! Ok ladies, for those of us in school, it’s the end of the semester, Christmas is coming up, some of us are working overtime to get that little extra spending dough, we are all busy! So here are some easy tips to always stay fashionable and well put together even when your time is running very low!

Organize your closet into color combinations or pre-arranged outfits:

This eliminates the guess work! If your closet is already arranged so that you can just grab and go, you won’t have to piece outfits together from all over, saving you time! Just decide on the weather, grab one, and throw it on!

Always keep a to-go bag of travel size necessity items handy and ready to go. Stock travel size toiletry items (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, contact solution, soap), an inventory of easy to create hairstyles and the products needed to create them (you don’t want to have to be lugging around a diffuser and straightening iron everywhere! Styles like buns are easy to create with just a travel size hairspray, elastics, and some bobby pins), and versatile shoes (dress flats are good, because they are comfortable and practical but can still style up an outfit!)

Pick out your clothes the night before: Although at the end of the day, sometimes we just wanna have our glass of wine and collapse into the warm soft bed, but I for one, would rather STAY in that bed an extra 20 minute in the morning then get in a few minutes earlier! Picking out your outfit the night before ensures that you won’t run late because you can’t decide what to wear, or can’t find that one shirt you had wanted. Lay your clothes out so all the pieces are there together and you just have to put them on in the morning and go!

>> On a budget? Instead of buying lots of clothes, keep an inventory of basics (sweaters, blouses, long and short sleeve dress tee-shirts) and buy different scarves to compliment them. The weather is getting colder, so many of us will be wearing coats anyway, hiding your outfit a majority of the day. A fun scarf is a great way to accent any outfit and male sure you stand out in the crowd. Just make sure that it still matches your coat! Nothing is tackier than a coat that has nothing to with anything else you have on!

Don’t over think it.

Stay with easy but stylish outfits:
-Pick basic solids (black, brown, white, beige…) and pair it with one bright or different color item such as a cardigan, scarf, shoes, hat, or bag. One small accessory can add just the right touch to complete and outfit.

-Pick ONE print. It’s easy to mess up an outfit when trying to combine too many prints and colors. If you have a print piece such as a blouse or scarf you want to wear, let that piece be the focus piece to avoid over-stimulation. You don’t want to look like there is a carnival happening all over your body. Match that print with the basic colors involved. Jeans and a black blazer, black pants and a muted cardigan, brown skirt and beige blouse, are all good combination examples that will help highlight a nice print piece.

Would you ever lie to your current partner about how many people you have had sex with in the past? Why do poeple always say keep it real? When really they cannot handle reality? So you and your guy are having date night you are watching a movie he stops the movie and ask you how many people you have been with. He intrudes your thoughts of having sex with him that night with this nonsense. You tell him that you are not going to answer that question. He gets offended and you let him know that no matter the number he is going to be disappointed. That is when he says that more than likely whatever number you give him he will multiply by three. Because that is the rule of three. But he neglects to tell you that with guys you should subtract three from the number he gives you. In other words women downplay the number and guys overcompensate their number. Truth be told ladies we are basically caught in a Catch 22 on this one. No matter what we say they already think it is all bullshit. How fair is that? A guy himself told me he would never ask that question and will never answer that question. Now if I had said that a man would have looked at me like I had five heads with horns growing out of them. As long as your health records check out and the bill is clean what is the problem. Do you really want to know how many times your mate has gotten it in with someone other than you? What are you going to do walk up to them and shake their hand? I watched this show on time about hookers and there was this guy on there who wanted to know how many men the hooker had been with that night. Now that was strange. The truth is stranger than fiction. I just feel that question is a loaded one and I am not a fan of Russian Roulette. It just pisses me off how women are held to a higher standard than men. Separate but not equal. Every since Eve gave Adam the apple it has been hell to pay.

You might have heard through the grapevine that The Centre at Glen Burnie is a sponsor of Baltimore Fashion Week. The Centre at Glen Burnie mall, is the mall that is located next to the Best Buy of Ritchie Highway - the strip mall. The mall's address is:

With this partnership, we will be performing a fashion event on Saturday, November 21, 2009

and other fashion events until Baltimore Fashion Week 2010 - which is scheduled for August 9, 2010 through August 13, 2010.

We will need about 30 reliable models. We are saying reliable because you will need to arrive to the mall on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2009 by 9:00 a.m. for prep time for the show that will begin at 11:00 a.m. sharp. The fashion event will be held in the Bonefish Courtyard - near Lane Bryant. The event will be over no later than 1:00 p.m.

Participating in this showcase will be the following retail stores Lane Bryant, DOTS, Rainbow, Smart Attire, Dicks, and Target. The jury is still out on Dicks and Target's participation.

The showcasing categories are active-wear, ready-to-wear, and After-5/Formal.

This year Baltimore Fashion Week has incorporated the talents of Tashia Dorsey. Tashia will be working with the retail stores to capture the look that is a true representation of Baltimore Fashion Week and its models.

Why do good guys go bad? Ladies have been pondering this one for years. Hopefully today's post will shed some light on this mystery. Nice guys have grown tired of being overlooked. They have felt like they are walking mats we step all over on both sides. Good brothers are not a hot commodity although they should be. For too long we have mistaken their kindness for a weakness. We find their kindness to be emasculating, players are the alpha male. I cannot get that charm school episode out of my head with Tariq Nasheed where the women overlooked the Renaissance man who encompassed the qualities in a man that so many women say they want. We do not know what we want because we are dangerously in love with assholes. Ironically, enough when good guys go bad we always say he used to be so sweet. But that is when we play him for a sucker. Karma is definitely a bitch. The dynamics of the relationship have been broken down once again by society it dates back to slavery. The good slave was rewarded with vicious, torturous, gifts. He was beaten down in front of his family. This big, strong man whittled away in front the eyes of his wife and children. If he could not protect them who could. This changed the view of the man in his woman's eyes. Nice guys are simply put not respected for the kings they truly are. Think about it you have an example of a gentleman in Ne-Yo yet here we are questioning his sexuality. Learn to appreciate such intuitiveness. Ladies we need to have some accountability in the destruction of the nice guy. We are culpable for his demise. He is suffocating slowly and revival attempts are futile. Death will become him if we do not caress his aching heart. His blood will be on our hands. We make all these justifications, excuses rather for not accepting the good brother. Somehow he is not on our level yet we will meet a bad brother and try to mold him into a good brother. What part of the game is that? I am confused by even writing that. You cannot change a man. There it is I said it. Stop trying so damn hard. Accept what you deserve a good man. We get too consume by what he drives, how much he makes, and how good he looks. Look at the bigger picture concern yourself with whether or not he respects you enough to love and care for you and only you and not a bevy of other ladies. He loves you enough to have one leading lady on the pedestal. Aren't you tired of sharing the spotlight? Shit is so messed up you know everything your getting with the bad brother and still love him unconditionally. You take that same knowledge with a good brother and those very things will render him unlovable. Stop dating these men that don't want you. Or even better who only want a part of you. Stop being flattered when a guy tells you he wants to sleep with you. That is not flattering. Cut that shit out. Use your wise mind ladies stop going off your damn emotions. Listen I am talking to you as much as I am talking to me. I have a few good men in my life and I refuse to date them. I like you have been dating men that are emotionally unavailable to me trying to change them. I need like you to change my thought process. Collectively, we must rally for the elite group of good brother left. They should not be walking around here aimlessly. But before you can join this elite group you must be elite yourself. If you are a good woman that deserves a good man at accordingly. Ladies good men are a dying breed and it is our job to save them. Do not let them resurrect among the unsavory characters that bad men are. They are getting tired and fed up. Like a woman, once they are fed up there is nothing you can do about it. Falling out of love and it's too late to talk about it. Cherish the good guy in your life before you lose him. Once he is gone you will have to live with the fact you did him wrong forever.

Well Kourtney it is the year of the gentleman but the players are getting all the love. That just doesn't seem fair. Ladies wake up there are nice guys surrounding you. Why do we waste time on these men that are emotionally unavailable to us? Here's the scenario, you go out with this guy and he is a perfect gentleman he follows all the rules of chilvary. At the end of the night he is excited that he got a kiss and is content with just that. He did not try to make a move all night and now you are questioning his sexuality. What type of shit is that? Since he did not make a move on you in your warped sense of self he must be gay. You should be flattered he is into traditional courting of a lady. You command respect yet you push it away when it is given without a fight. Love is not about fighting despite what you heard. Love is as natural as a warm summer's breeze. See we have this thing where we proclaim we want a challenge. We are turned on by a man we have to fight to be with us. It is so obvious he doesn't want you but you still fight for him anyway. I am stressing this issue because I do the same thing. I have the potential to be happy but I say I am confused. I do not want a nice guy if you look at my actions and neither do you. Guys plain and simple we don't want you. We don't want you because it is too simple, too easy, and we are not used to that. You don't make us prove we are worthy of your love. You give it too us as freely as God gives us life. We don't think we deserve happiness. We deserve to be shut out and not supported by our man. Hell we will even do the unthinkable settle. So what he does want to be married we will be content just having him lay next to us for years to come. We want a man in any form and fashion even if he is only ours for a moment. Someone said to me why won't you let me love you? I didn't have an answer for him. I could not give a plausible reason why I should not honor his request. So I say it now for all of us I am sorry. Sorry nice guys for treating you like trash instead like the royalty you are. Sorry for putting peasants on the pedestal and carrying them past you. Sorry for questioning your loyalty and respect. But most of all I am sorry for not loving myself enough to see that I do deserve to be loved by a man other than God. Nice guys wouldn't finish last if ladies just put themselves first.

Style advice for the busy woman (and man, every now and then!)

Just a quick check-in! Here are some things that are no longer acceptable in the up-coming year, 2010!
Trends on the way out:

-Leggings (especially as pants)
->Substitute: sheer leggings (Sheer black leggings can add a touch of class and elegance to almost any dress or skirt)

-Knock offs! (You’re not fooling anyone!)->Substitute: Get a stylish or custom bag from a boutique that is way more affordable than a real Louis or Gucci, but just as cute, and more EXCLUSIVE, because not every other woman is carrying a knock off of the bag! (*Note: Unless its vintage, if you got it anywhere other than the Louis or Gucci store or website, and paid any less than $500 for it, its probably fake!)

-Not Accessorizing (that’s boring!) and OVER accessorizing (that’s distracting! Jingle Bells much??)
->Substitute: Accessories that compliment your outfit, but not overpower it. Figure out what you want your outfit to communicate. Casual but classy? Elegant and regal? Accessories can really change the whole message! But be careful not to use too many at once! Again, use your discretion. Two belts? Not ok. Rings on every finger? Not ok. A necklace with a shirt that has detailed embellishment at the collar? Stay away.

-Sweating your hair out!
->Substitute: Plan accordingly! If you know you in the mood to dance, plan an appropriate hairstyle that is gonna work with you, not against you! You should look just about as presentable leaving the club as you did at the door!

Ladies what are 3 non-verbal signs you give a man to show him you are interested? Or signs you do not want to be bothered? I am a shy girl so non-verbal signs are an amazing way to communicate with people. I surveyed a few ladies both married and single. When a woman is interested in you she will make eye contact. She will keep an unwavering gaze on you. It will seems as if there are only two people on earth, you and her. Nothing else will even matter. If she is interested she will smile at you and not just because you are telling a funny joke. Talking to you makes her happy. She smiles often to let you know that. If you are also interested smile back. She leans toward you while talking. You have the green light. Take it before you see the signs she is not interested. Honestly, I was avoiding this fork in the road but I guess I will have to yank it out anyway. Guys after reading this take it at face value she just not that into you if: does not look you in the eye and turns her back to you when you are talking to her, runs and hide to avoid contact with you, and most importantly if you ask her out and she turns you down it is a wrap. She is not playing hard to get she just wants you to get a clue she is simply not interested. Men we hate it when you get all delusional and think we are playing a cat and mouse game. Please do not go into stalker mode. I had a situation like this I was not interested in someone and they were determined to convince me otherwise. I displayed all these signs and to this day he still thinks I am just confused about what I really want. Stop laughing ladies and gentleman his antics are annoying. Now ladies while you are laughing please keep in mind these rules both interested and uninterested can apply to men as well. Listen to a person non-verbal clues they will give you insight into what they really want or do not want from you. Don't make them say it out loud. Your ego will be stinging for days for the bitch verbal slap they give you.

photos.

* Incentive: Demonstrators in the top 50 stores with the highest sales lift
COULD win a $50 Visa Gift Card. They must complete a live phone training
session, have a debit card swipe and Market link call for each day, and
submit an audit photo to their agency (who will send it to Sunflower)
showing correct set-up and consumer interaction. If they complete all 4
steps and if their store is one of the 50 top selling stores, their gift
card will be mailed to them after the program executes.

You are hurt as well overwhelmed by the pain heartbreak brings. Questions burst out of you like a damn that has reached it's breaking point. Naively you question the fact wondering if you were good enough for him instead of understanding the fact he just proved himself unworthy by committing this heinous act. How do you move past this? With the feelings that seem to envelope your heart and seal it shut can your love for him remain the same? As your heart began to harden and trust goes out the window can forgiveness be found before your heart is immersed in concrete. Anger about the fact often breeds insecurity. I had a former love cheat on me and I thought I could forgive him. I tried to look at the act as water flowing under a newly built bridge. Yet thoughts of her and him raced through my mind everyday. It got to a point where I was so riddled with hate and contempt for the both of them I went to her job to confront her. I had no idea what I was going to say because in all actuality I did not want to say anything. All I knew was I was hurting and I want someone else to feel my pain preferably someone who inflicted it upon me. I got there and her and I were face to face and she could not even look at me. I want to say so much but the words could not form at my speechless lips. There she was the woman who for so long had no face merely she was simply a name which ignited anger in me. What did she have that I did not? Why wasn't I enough for him? As I write this I want to let you know that it took me years to move past what happened. For a long time I would see her and just wanted her to look me in the eyes and explain how she could sleep with the man she knew was mine. I wanted to know why she thought her needs were more important than mine? Why did he care for he more than me? I will be honest it took a lot of years and tears for me to move past what happened between them. Seeing them together after our breakup stung deep like a knife wound to my heart. Forgiveness was a hard lesson to learn. I had to accept that there was nothing I could have done to prevent him from cheating. Also, I had to accept that I am worthy of unconditional, pure love. I forgave him because my heart was hemorrhaging from all the hurt his selfishness caused. I tried to hold onto to the good our relationship had produced. The truth was our time had passed and we were holding onto a memory that had since faded. You can forgive but you can never forget. Even when I write this piece the pain I felt the day I found out he was cheating still seems so raw as if it happened yesterday. That is why although I have forgiven him I have decided that I cannot allow him back into my heart. No amount of tears or kisses can make his indiscretion dissipate from my memory. As much as I want what we once had I have to be realistic and keep things in perspective for me. For me this act what far too great and cost me way too much. I refuse to let my guard down again for him. Cheating makes trust a hard thing to give to someone. You cannot blame every man for the foolishness of one. To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you.

Ladies as well all know men are less likely to forgive women of infidelity than a woman is to forgive a man. In our minds we want to understand so we are fixated in emotional mind. In his mind, rationale tells him there is no excuse for cheating under any circumstance. You should have remained faithful regardless. In the grand scheme of things cheating is not worth the consequences you must endure for committing such a heinous act. Recently, I watched an episode of Maury where this woman confessed to cheating on her man and he was so devastated had it not been for the cameras I think it would have gotten physical. She allowed an intruder to invade her mind, body, and soul and it would forever be etched in his memory. Love is strong but the intensity of infidelity can often sever it's ties. The cost is too great. True love is priceless. Why would you sell out to the highest bidder and auction off the greatest gift of all?

It is the latest 'cheap chic' designer collaboration for H&M, which has recently sold collections by Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, and British's Matthew Williamson.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M range features more than 40 pieces including clothing as well as footwear and handbags. Prices range from £14.99 for jewellery, through to £149.99 for a leather dress and £179.99 for thigh high boot. the cheapest shoe is a pair of zebra-print studded ballet pumps for £49.99.

The full collection will be previewed on the H&M website on October 29 and will go on sale in selected stores from November 14.

Diageo Turns to Dutch, Diddy Partnerships for Vodka Expansion

Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Diageo Plc, the world’s largest liquor maker, is turning to partnerships with rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs and Dutch distiller Ketel One to release new vodka varieties and push further into emerging markets.
Diageo’s Ciroc vodka, an equal-share venture with Combs, is set to release coconut and red-berry varieties in the U.S. , Marc Strachan, the brand’s marketing director, said at an Oct. 28 presentation in Schiedam , Netherlands . Ketel One, the local vodka maker in which Diageo bought a 50 percent stake for $900 million last year, plans to enter 15 new markets including Brazil and Australia by the end of June, said Bob Nolet, vice president of the Nolet Distillery, where it’s made.
Vodka accounted for 11 percent of Diageo’s 12.3 billion- pounds ($20.4 billion) revenue last year. Organic sales -- which exclude acquisitions and currency movements -- of Diageo’s Johnnie Walker and Tanqueray gin fell in the year through June, while sales of Smirnoff, which leads the $36 billion premium- vodka market, rose 2 percent.
“People have tried to call the downturn of vodka since its success in the 90s, but it continues to outperform in most markets and especially in the U.S.,” Ian Shackleton, an analyst at Nomura International Plc in London with a “buy” rating on the stock, said in a telephone interview. “It’s the most flexible and mixable of spirits, and Diageo have coverage across the whole space.”
‘A True Partner’
Ciroc and Ketel One are pricier alternatives to Diageo’s Smirnoff. Ciroc volume sales climbed to 400,000 cases in the year ended June 30 from 60,000 cases in first half of 2007, the year that Diageo teamed up with Sean Combs. Diddy’s fellow rappers Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Jay-Z all have endorsement deals with liquor brands in the U.S. , while Combs is “a true partner” and receives half the brand’s profits, Strachan said.
The recent success of the Ciroc venture still pales in comparison to Smirnoff, which was the first premium-spirit to surpass 25 million cases of sales in 2008. Diageo also plans to release a new Ketel One flavor to add to its citrus variety in 2010, Nolet said.
The premium-vodka market is made up of about 100 million cases of bottles that sell for more than $8. That doesn’t include the estimated 400 million cases of lower-priced local brands sold each year, predominantly in Russia and eastern Europe, said Philip Gladman, Smirnoff’s global brand director.
The U.S. currently accounts for more than 90 percent of Ketel One’s vodka sales, which will reach 2 million 9-liter cases this year, said Nolet, an 11th-generation descendant of the distillery’s founding family.
“The partnership with Diageo is about global scale and our inspiration to make Ketel One a true global brand,” said Nolet. “We’re in this forever.”
Doubling Production
The distillery, which has a football-field-sized storage facility and a tunnel under a neighboring canal to ferry materials to the bottling line, also has the capacity to double production to 4 million cases a year when demand from new markets warrants it, Nolet said.
“Ketel One have done pretty well in the U.S. on their own but were hardly heard of outside -- that’s what Diageo brings to the party,” said Nomura’s Shackleton. “There’s no reason why they can’t reach 4 million cases globally fairly quickly.”
Ciroc and Ketel One retail for $54 and $38 per 1.75 liter bottle, compared with about $20 for Smirnoff. The two labels fill a hole in Diageo’s portfolio and will enable the company to react to changing trends if consumers trade up or down in their purchases, said Gladman.
Flavors
New products include apple, lime, and blueberry-flavored Smirnoff in the U.K. Diageo also wants to replicate the success of the wine and whisky industries in educating consumers about the origins, tastes and production techniques of its vodkas, said Jason Bowden, Ketel One’s in-house spirits expert. The company worked with bartenders and retailers for 12 months to develop an in-store marketing campaign along those lines, he said.
Diageo is also targeting vodka growth in Asian markets including Japan , Korea , and China , selling to consumers of traditional spirits such as China ’s baijiu, a rice liquor. Early sales of Shanghai White, a vodka-baijiu mix released in Hong Kong in recent months, are “promising,” Gladman said.

Every once in a while, a pop star comes along who is so visually magnetic, her music so utterly everywhere, that the world can’t take its eyes off her. There’s no question who that superstar is right now: Her name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. At 21, Rihanna’s résumé could turn even a music industry veteran a major shade of green: Since Jay-Z signed her to Def Jam in 2005, she has scored four number-one hits and has sold more than 12 million albums, a number soon to grow with her just-released album (untitled as of press time). Add to that Rihanna’s self-invented style—a mash-up of Paris couture and street punk, and possibly the best-known haircut on the planet—and you have a full-on fan frenzy. With all that attention comes a sky-high platform for doing good, and Rihanna’s used it wisely: In 2006 she quietly started the Believe Foundation, a fund that provides educational and medical supplies to needy children, and she has personally helped two leukemia sufferers find the bone marrow matches they needed to live. Of course, it’s impossible to talk about Rihanna without also discussing the February night the singer was brutally assaulted by her then-boyfriend, pop star Chris Brown. Rihanna has remained mostly silent about that awful experience. But now, with Brown out of her life, she’s opening up as a way to speak on behalf of victims of domestic violence. Listen in on this honest comeback interview.
Glamour: Let’s first talk about life before you made it: You are one of the few pop stars in recent years to come from the islands.
Rihanna: I would have never dreamed that my career would be this successful. I grew up in an average home in Barbados , and we didn’t live in the best neighborhood. But I was never aware that we were poor; my mom never made us feel that way. She loved me unconditionally. She made us feel anything was possible and instilled in me such confidence.
Glamour: Did you sing a lot as a kid?
Rihanna: Always—in the shower, to pillows and stuffed animals, my cousins. But I knew I wanted my music to be heard worldwide. That was my dream. I was able to make demos whenever I had vacation time, but my mom always said, “You are not stopping school until you get signed.” And even when I got signed, she still made me go to school.
Glamour: You auditioned for Jay-Z at Def Jam. What was that like?
Rihanna: I was nervous as hell. The night before, I couldn’t sleep. I was trying on a million different outfits and makeup. I remember seeing Jay-Z and starting to shake. I thought he would be in a suit, sitting behind a desk with a cigar. But he was totally chill, wearing sneakers and a T-shirt. Then I went into audition mode. I knew it was all or nothing. Right away, the Def Jam people said, “You can’t leave the building.” They closed the door, and the lawyers stayed until 1:00 or 2:00 A.M. to do the deal.
Glamour: That literally is the definition of overnight success!
Rihanna: In a matter of weeks, the first single [“Pon de Replay”] went to radio. Then we shot a video, and the song just took off. I was in the Top 10 with huge artists who I looked up to. Jay-Z kept telling me, “This never happens, so don’t get used to it.” I saw how special that moment was.
Glamour: What’s the most valuable piece of advice Jay-Z’s ever given you?
Rihanna: In the beginning of my career, he said, “You must be a good person, because good things are happening for you, but you have to stay humble.” One thing that intrigued me about him was that he was such a huge artist and really down-to-earth. I felt like if he was saying this, it must work.
Glamour: Let’s talk about this past year—you’ve obviously been through some difficult things. How did the people around you help you cope?
Rihanna: My friends and family have been extremely supportive, and everyone has been there for me. But at some point you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be—no one can understand. That’s when you get close to God.
Glamour: Are you referring to the [Chris Brown] incident?
Rihanna: I am talking about starting with the night [before] the Grammys and then on. That was not the only thing that occurred this year. The picture leaking…it was one thing after another.
Glamour: You’re talking about the photo [reportedly of Rihanna’s injured face taken by police after Brown assaulted her] that was allegedly leaked by cops. You handled that so well; you kept silent in the press.
Rihanna: It was humiliating; that is not a photo you would show to anybody. I felt completely taken advantage of. I felt like people were making it into a fun topic on the Internet, and it’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.
Glamour: How has this event changed you as a person, as a woman?
Rihanna: I’m stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.
Glamour: Do you think you’ve gotten your strength from your mom?
Rihanna: Definitely. My mom gave us the tools to survive…. My parents separated when I was eight or nine. I helped her raise my [youngest] brother, because my mom was working all the time. He’s my favorite.
Glamour: Do you feel that this experience has laid the groundwork for coping with anything so public again?
Rihanna: It has taught me so much. I felt like I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day. It was like, What, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t go back home?
Glamour: If you could offer a message to the millions of young women who look up to you, what would you tell someone who found herself in a similar situation?
Rihanna: Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.
Glamour: I think that’s a great message. What about your new album? What’s it like?
Rihanna: I was involved in a lot of the writing. I put everything I’ve wanted to say for the past eight months into my music. The songs are really personal. It’s rock ‘n’ roll, but it’s really hip-hop: If Lil’ Wayne and Kings of Leon like my album, then I’ll feel good. I would not change anything about it. Even if people don’t love it, I made exactly the piece of art that I wanted to make. It’s super fearless—which is exactly how I feel right now. I am in a really good place.
Glamour: Justin Timberlake said it sounds a little more grown-up—do you agree with that comment?
Rihanna: I agree. I have grown up a lot since my last album. It [represents] exactly where I am at right now.
Glamour: Jay-Z once said that your challenge as an artist was going to be to make people relate to you as a human being. What do you think he meant by that?
Rihanna: Before, there was an innocence to me. It was a perfect image. So the minute I did something imperfect, it was a big deal. I think that’s what he was referring to: People forget that after we get to our hotel rooms at night, we take a shower, we watch TV, eat room service and do normal things. Behind it all, we are still human beings.
Glamour: Now let’s talk about your success in the world of fashion: You have become a fashion icon practically overnight. What does it mean to you as a performer, as a creative person, as a way to celebrate who you are?
Rihanna: Fashion for me is another way I get to express myself creatively. It is one of the fun things I get to do: to play dress-up, and create outfits and looks that aren’t typical. I am an artist, so I like creating things. Shoes are my favorite thing.
Glamour: OK, so how many pairs do you own?
Rihanna: Too damn many! [Laughs.]
Glamour: Your look has evolved from the beginning of your career.
Rihanna: In the first two years of my career, there were a lot of restraints on what I could do. I couldn’t wear certain colors of lipstick, like bright pink, dark pink or red; [my lips] had to be natural. Eventually, I stopped communicating with certain people at the label, and did exactly what I wanted to do. And that was to cut my hair, dye it black, change my clothes, change my sound. Really to just express myself.
Glamour: Let’s talk about that famous hair of yours. Your cut now is even called “The Rihanna” in salons!
Rihanna: Yeah, we cut it into a bob for the [Good Girl Gone Bad album] cover shoot, but then I went even shorter for the NRJ Music Awards [in January 2008]. My hairdresser just said, “I don’t feel like doing your hair anymore—I want to cut it.” I was like, Finally!
Glamour: On to your charity work: What in your own life inspired you to start the Believe Foundation?
Rihanna: I have always loved kids. They are little adults with so much personality, and it is fun to work with that. Whether that means donating school supplies or medication, or [using my celebrity] to get them a bone marrow transplant, I want to help.
Glamour: You actually helped a young girl and a mother of two, both of whom were suffering from leukemia, find bone marrow matches for transplants. How did that happen?
Rihanna: My manager sent me a video this little girl did for her best friend. It shows them playing, and then Isabelle says to the camera, “This is my friend Jasmina, and here’s how you can help her: Swab your mouth for DNA, and put it into an envelope.” They were both adopted and have the best bond—they are inseparable. The video made you fall in love with both of them. I was like, I have to help her. So I did a bunch of events to raise awareness. Just when we thought we were not going to find a donor, we found one. The other woman, Lisa, is a mother of two who was diagnosed with leukemia and was going to die if she didn’t get a bone marrow transplant. I knew she could not leave her two kids; that’s all that was going through my head. So we said a lot of prayers, sent out press releases and did events in order to get the word out. Her transplant was successful. She was in a lot of pain, but she was so strong and determined.
Glamour: Wow, that’s amazing. So here you are, only 21, and you have already accomplished so much. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Rihanna: So much has happened in the past five years, I can’t speak for the next five. What I want is to continue to grow. Because I am never satisfied; I always want more. I always want to get better. I always want to climb another step.
Glamour: Is it too early for you to think, I want to be in love, I want to have a family? Is that too far down the road?
Rihanna: I hope I find love in the next 10 years—that will be pretty annoying if I am 31 and still have never been in love! But yeah, I’d like to be in a great place in both my personal life and my career. I still want to be doing what I love. Whatever that is in 10 years, I don’t know.
Glamour: Well, congratulations on being a Woman of the Year!

It has always been in season it just seems we have always been rebellious and think we have outgrown it. We have gotten to big for our britches. Ladies leave him lingering for more with that unforgettable first kiss. Have more conversations. Learn about his goals and ambitions and don't be afraid to share some of yours. What happened to dinner and a movie? Ending the night with a kiss instead of a nightcap. Know you are worth waiting for. It is as if we have a backwards way of thinking sex is the priority and we anticipate everything else will come. Sex is the easy part it seems getting to know each is the part that takes work. Work is what we are afraid of. Getting our hands dirty. Think with your brain not your body. Ignore you libido for once and try a little logic. You always want to maintain a level of respect for yourself and others. Live for love not regrets.

The answer to this question is no. The two minds must always be agreed in order to prevent a bowl of confusion. See it may be assumed that since the man agreed to sex that he understood he is now in a relationship. It all boils down the fact we must always be clear about what we want. In addition you must also listen to what a person tells you. Don't just hear what you want them to say it is a big difference. Sometimes we get caught up in the fantasy we wind up missing the truth. We develop these illusions of grandeur.

But I want to talk to my ladies right now please stop assuming that when a man sleeps with you that you all have magically developed in a relationship. Let's be frank for one a man does not have to like you to sleep with you. Learn to become a non-verbal reader. Men are logical creatures if they want to be with you they will simply let you know. We get caught up in the situation where we have this idea in our heads where we think things are headed. We get stuck in emotional mind, throwing logic and rationale out the window. Ladies I know you want to blame the man in this situation but you cannot do that without blaming yourself first. You told him I won't sleep with you unless your are my man. He never agreed to such terms. The sex did not seal the deal. Be leary of such threatening language it will scare the hell out of him and you will be in a short-lived relationship. He will be there until he has smacked, flipped and rubbed it down into boredom.

Have you ever been involved in a booty call arrangement? An arrangement which is sexual in nature and the terms of the agreement are that there are no emotional attachments. It is purely sexual. You are at the grocery store and you run into an old friend from high school. You all get to talking and catching up. He suggests you all exchange numbers and get together some other time. Later on that night he invites you over to his place. You all began kissing and he is caressing you and clothes seem to disappear. One thing leads to another and you are thinking he just invented sex. You all make a verbal agreement that whenever the mood strikes either of you, you all will hook up. You all see one another again and act as if nothing happened. As long as you two keep things this way the arrangement works out perfectly. I had an arrangement like this years ago it was perfect until he started going through my phone calling an male number in there and asking how they knew me. On one rare occasion I decided I did not want to be intimate with him and he threatened to burn my house down. Needless to say our contract was null and void after that incident. Every since then I have been hesitant about getting involved in such an arrangement. Now that I am older I realize that such an arrangement can be a Catch 22. You might get into this situation believing you are just in it for the sex and find yourself falling for your partner which means you both mutually agree to change the terms of the contract or ended things right then and there. Style advice for the busy woman (and man, every now and then!)
Ladies! More classy, less trashy!

Now being that this is my first ever blog post, let me preface this with a disclaimer!

This is all my opinion! I have been gassed up by many to believe that I have good design sense and style, as well as discretion when it comes to fashion. However, I am well aware that not everyone may agree (I guess?). In any case, I am the type of woman who more often than not will dress just to go to the grocery store, or do my hair and/or make-up anytime I leave the house. If you see me in the streets undone, there is probably a very good reason for it. With that being said, given that this is a day and age in which this phenomenon of “hating” is so ubiquitous, this is a fashion column as perceived by Caitlin Teahlyse Fair (as well as some input from a few generous yet critical friends of mine), and this is all a matter of my opinion (and relevant research!) If you don’t agree with mine, you are certainly entitled to your own!

Now, as some of you many know, every now and then I make an appearance at a night club or party, usually with one or more of my ever-stylish girls beside me. Now I for one, rarely have to check my girls upon living the house for a night out, because we all have generally good senses of what completely inappropriate to walk out of the house in. But there are times when one of us may politely (“Hell no bitch, you need to take off that snakeskin rhinestone studded cowboy hat, NOW!”) invite one of the crew to take second look in the mirror and a second reach in the closet. However, not all girls have friends as loyal and out-rightly concerned as my crew, or maybe they just don’t have the fashion know-how to even notice (usually the ill-costumed travel in packs). So with that being said, it’s about time that we all start looking out for self when it comes to our club-wear. A brief list of things that I am tired of seeing in the club:

Lace-front wigs and Synthetic Weave:

Ladies, now I KNOW, we all put a lot of effort and take great pride in our hair. Hair is kind of a big deal to us females. So PLEASE, let your hair represent you well! It’s ok to add a little here and there, we don’t all have the length or volume we might want, but let’s be practical! If you can tell it’s not yours, why would you want it? Your hair is an extension of YOU! Let it speak with you, not speak for itself!

Inappropriate attire for the given venue:
Most clubs have dress codes. Again, represent yourself well! Grown and sexy spots are NOT the venue to show off your new dunks. If you are not a pumps kind of gal, that’s fine! We all have our own steez. A nice pair of dress flats or EVEN (in some cases! Please use discretion!) dress “sneakers” are acceptable! Stylish and sleek sneakers (Example: Coach or diesel dress sneakers) can be worn in taste to a more posh club. Please don’t come in yah Tops or new J’s. That might be sexy in the supermarket, but not in the club! But be aware of what kind of club you’re going to, cocktail dresses at Katmandu are NOT whatspoppin.com!

Ill-fitting clothing (We can’t all go in each other’s closets ladies; there is NO such thing as ONE SIZE FITS ALL!)

One of the perks of being a female is getting ready with all your girlfriends. (If yah man is in his homeboy’s closet or primping with his boys before the club, you might wanna investigate that situation, I’m just sayin!) Girls can get away with borrowing a piece or two from each others’ closets! But PLEASE! If you know you don’t fit that, or ya’ll are not the same size, stop trying to squeeze yourself into clothing that was not made for your body type! All shapes are beautiful, but you gotta know how to dress appropriately for your shape and size! Fishnets on a fuller figured women may not be the best idea. All jokes aside, if your flesh id protruding out of the fishnet holes, they weren’t made for you mama! Skin tight clothing is tricky for women who are both smaller AND larger. Very thin women can look shapeless in skin tight clothing that lacks volume and depth. Flowing fabrics tend to flatter women with less curves. On the same note, fuller figured women should be careful with very fitting clothing as well. The wrong fabrics or fits can show off all the WRONG curves! Use your discretion ladies, and if you aren’t sure, ask your most HONEST friend! (*Note: Sometimes guys opinions are more deliberate and straightforward than females, because they don’t know how to lie!)

Overly matching outfits and colors that completely DON’T match (why do you look like a giant McDonald’s sign??)

This is a tricky one, because too much of either one is not good! You don’t want to look like the commonly referenced bag of skittles or box of 64 Crayola Crayons, but you don’t want to look like The Jolly Green Giant or one of the Telly Tubbies either! Matchy matchy is OUT ladies! Having the same color bottoms, tops, belt, accessories, and shoes, is NOT stylish nor creative. Furthmore, you leave room for you colors not to match up exactly. Nothing is worse than a woman trying to dress all in pink, but having 6 different shades of pink on. On the other hand, there IS a color SPECTRUM, with colors that go together all the time. Mustard yellows, scarlet reds, olive greens, browns, and beiges are all great colors to pair together. Blacks, gray, whites, with a pop of contrasting color (like red shoes and a red belt) are another great way to go. Stay away from mixing several very bright colors together unless you have a single focus pieces that ties all the colors together in the outfit.

BAREFEET!!!!!!!

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, wants to see your dogs out at the club! And who KNOWS when the last time they really cleaned that floor! There could be glass, old vomit, blood, spit, who KNOWS on that floor! So aside from it being tacky, it’s a SAFETY HAZARD! What if someone drops a mean stiletto heel right on your toe?? Ladies, if you cannot last the night in the shoes you picked out, save those for an event when you are not going to be on your feet all night! Let those be your dinner date shoes. Put them in the sit-down only category, not the dancing shoes section of your closet!

You and your boy like the same girl, how do you decide who dates her? He likes her for external reasons you idolize her for internal reasons. You and her have grown closer than him and her. You get to see a side of her that he never even realized existed. She is supportive of you and your endeavors. You are appreciative of that. A woman should never come between true friends. Although you are aware of this fact it plagues you everyday, the reality is to him she is just a big butt and a smile. For you it is much deeper than that. You admire this woman and can see this friendship growing into so much more. You and her share common goals and interests. In the past you have always backed down but not this time. In my opinion, you should let your boy and her know how you feel. If you all have a deep connection then more will prosper from the friendship. Whatever you do let this decision of who dates her be hers and hers alone no pressure. It could be that she does not see things the same way you do and may just want to maintain a friendship with you. Often times people say friends make the best lovers. They say good things come to those who wait. Patience is a virtue that many of us are not equipped with. We want, what we want, when we want it, and do not have time to wait. It has been my experience that timing is everything. Sometimes it is just not your turn. Often you reflect back to times when you liked someone and they did not like you back and then years later they realize what a catch you were. Only to realize that their time had passed. In the back of your mind you think why didn’t they approach me sooner? Or, you have a catch in front of you and you dropped the bait and someone else caught your fish. Reality can be a real pain in the ass. One that does not heal easy the more you think about what could have been the more it feels as though salt is being poured into the wound.

Battle of the Sexes: Would you sleep with someone your friend slept with? There is this guy that you have been eyeing for a while that you spot while out one night with the girls. Your cutie approaches and he is interested in your girl. Devastated you roll with the flow and later endure her story about their recent liaison. A few months later you spot your cutie at an eatery and he invites you to have lunch with him versus the two of you eating alone. Much to your surprise he informs you that he has also been eyeing you for quite some time. He reveals that he has always been interested in sleeping with you. After you pick your lip off the table you have to decide right now how to handle the situation. You have never done anything like this so why should you start now. You most certainly do not want her sloppy seconds. In addition, you are not flattered that he wants to sleep with you. No woman should ever be flattered that a man wants to sleep with her. Most importantly, he went out with your friend instead of you which just adds insult to your injured ego. He wants to test the waters. He wants to sample and compare. Let him compare someone else have some self respect. The male population is not so scarce that you have to recycle a man.
